PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Commissioners of Township of Plains, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania will hold a Public Meeting on September 22, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Second Street Fire Station, 50 Second street, Plains, Pa. The purpose of the Public Meeting is to receive public comment on the following matter only:
1. Propose an amendment to the zoning map to amend the Conservation District
adjacent to the Pennsylvania Turnpike which would be consistent with its use and current residential uses as set forth in the proposed zoning map.
2. Propose an amendment to the zoning map to address various usages not
contemplated in the current zoning ordinance by establishing a Technology/Energy District overlay on a portion of the Conservation District adjacent to the Pennsylvania Turnpike as set forth in the proposed zoning map.
3. Amend the zoning ordinance to create zoning district for windmills, solar farm and
data centers and related uses within a designated Technology/Energy District. This includes
regulations for the development of these uses within this newly created overlay district including,
but not limited to, setbacks, height and noise restrictions.
